Cramahe Township

Cramahe Township

Home to the villages of Colborne and Castleton, Cramahe is located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the heart of apple country, just an hour east of Toronto.

Like so much of Northumberland County, Cramahe Township is set amid rolling hills and tree-lined vistas. A community filled with colour and life, the rustic and the sophisticated, the historic and the modern, exists here in easy harmony. The region has seen steady growth and remains home to both thriving businesses and a pleasant and unique way of life.

The village of Colborne is home to a variety of vintage architecture and is not far from Lake Ontario. History is always on display in the homes and buildings that carry on the legacy of the community. Not to be outdone, the historic village of Castleton is home to the oldest operating general store in Northumberland County.

Apples are big business in the area, as evidenced by the annual Apple Blossom Tyme Festival and the famous Big Apple restaurant located just off Highway 401. And in addition to some of Ontario’s finest apple orchards and farms, Cramahe Township offers a wide array of galleries, shops and museums. The Town of Colborne is also home to the Keeler; a multipurpose sports and entertainment complex, a recently built modern Fire Station and a very active industrial park with close and easy access to the 401.

Trails for hiking and biking are abundant throughout the region, and a multitude of festivals and events will take you through the changing seasons.
