Alnwick/Haldimand Township
Stretching from Rice Lake across the Oak Ridges Moraine to Lake Ontario, the verdant hills of the municipality of Alnwick/Haldimand make for stunning views in every direction—including the beautiful Northumberland forest, with walking and cross-country ski trails. Municipality of Brighton
Brighton retains the spirit of the area's early settlers, who established some of the finest apple orchards in Canada. (The town still enthusiastically celebrates the apple harvest every fall with its "Applefest" event.) Glimpses of the town's agricultural past can be seen everywhere. Truly charming, and long known as a summer resort town, Brighton although surrounded by farms, is now growing with many new homes and interesting shops.
Town of Cobourg
The largest town in Northumberland County, Cobourg, has that “home town” feel that has appealed to many people from all over, adding to the diversity and uniqueness of this thriving community while preserving its small town atmosphere.
Cobourg is home to an eclectic variety of shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and its spectacular waterfront with its soft sand beach, picturesque boardwalk and popular boating marina. In the Town, there are many park areas including the Cobourg Conservation Area, an off-leash dogpark, as well as the waterfront trail, farmers’ market, the Ecology Garden and annual events like the Waterfront Festival, Sandcastle Event, Winterfest and Rotary Ribfest.
Cramahe Township
Home to the villages of Colborne and Castleton, Cramahe Township is located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the heart of apple country, just an hour and a bit, east of Toronto. Like so much of Northumberland County, Cramahe Township is set amid rolling hills and tree-lined vistas. A community filled with colour and life, the rustic and the sophisticated, the historic and the modern, exist here in easy harmony. The region has seen steady growth and remains home to both thriving business and a pleasant and unique way of life.
Hamilton Township
Bordered by Lake Ontario to the south, and Rice Lake to the north, the rural communities nestled within Hamilton Township offer a unique, laid-back way of life. Only minutes from the nearest town centres ie. Cobourg, and an hour’s drive from the Greater Toronto Area, this region offers the quiet of a rural lifestyle, with the ability to reconnect with urban society at any time.
Municipality of Port Hope

Rice Lake Region
