Hamilton Township
Hamilton Township
Bordered by Lake Ontario to the south, and Rice Lake to the north, the rural communities of Hamilton Township offer a laid-back, comfortable way of life, with all the convenience of being just minutes from the nearest town centres, and approximately an hour’s drive from the Greater Toronto Area.
“By land and water we flourish” is the Township’s motto. Once home to industries like sawmills, a tannery and a creamery, the region boasts an incredibly diverse variety of features and attractions — amongst them, beautiful Rice Lake and the verdant fields and hills of rural Northumberland County.
Today, Hamilton Township is home to the villages of Bewdley, Gore’s Landing (historic home of Canadian poet Archibald Lampman), Harwood, Cold Springs, Camborne and Baltimore.
